The captain of Paris Saint-Germain, Thiago Silva, may be forced to miss out on matches for a month and a half.

The Brazilian national team defender suffered a thigh muscle injury during Sunday's Ligue 1 match against Monaco, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

"He will undergo tests on Monday or Tuesday, but it's a muscle problem, so we will be without him for a while," said the team's coach Laurent Blanc.

If the prognosis is correct, the 29-year-old player will miss league matches against Valenciennes, Toulouse, and Marseille's Olympique, as well as the UEFA Champions League clash with Benfica.
