On Tuesday evening in England, the third stage of the "Capital One Cup" tournament began and 11 matches were played.
Manuel Pellegrini's "Manchester City" players secured an easy victory at home, not sparing the second division "Wigan" club. The winners were twice marked by Stevan Jovetic, and once each by Edin Dzeko, Yaya Toure, and Jesus Navas.
"Tottenham" club celebrated a victory away, leaving no chances for "Aston Villa" team. Jermain Defoe led the team to the next stage, with goals from him, Paulinho, and Nacer Chadli.
Another London club, "Chelsea," also broke through to the next stage of the tournament, winning away against third division "Swindon Town" players. Goals for the "aristocrats" were scored by Fernando Torres and Ramires.
"Everton" club ended their participation in the "Capital One" tournament with a defeat away to "Fulham" players. The "Toffees" wasted their advantage after Steven Naismith's goal, while Dimitar Berbatov and Darren Bent's precise strikes led "Fulham" to victory.
