The Turin "Juventus" forward Fabio Quagliarella, showing excellent sporting form, did not hide his joy in meeting the expectations placed on him.
The accurate shots of the Napoli-born footballer saved the team from defeat in the UEFA Champions League match against "Kobenhavn" and contributed to the victory against Verona's "Chievo."
"Everyone who steps onto the field expects to perform the tasks assigned to them, so far it has been going well for me," the forward stated.
F. Quagliarella became the only goal scorer for "Juventus" in the first Champions League match against "Kobenhavn," which surprisingly ended in a 1-1 draw in the Danish capital.
"Lately, our opponents have been scoring accurately on their first attempt. Recovering after conceding a goal is never easy, so we must pull ourselves together in this area and turn everything around."
The match against "Chievo" marked the first time when F. Quagliarella's strike partner in attack was Fernando Llorente, who joined Juventus last summer.
"In the opponent's penalty area, he feels like a fish in water and makes good use of his physical strength. When he is on the field, our style of play changes - we often cross the ball into the opponent's penalty area to make the most of Llorente's talents. I have nothing against that, as I myself enjoy playing in the penalty area."
In the interview, F. Quagliarella also shared some insights about the Turin derby that will take place on Sunday.
"I hope the derby lives up to everyone's expectations. It will be an unusual match for me, as I grew up in the youth academy of Turin. I feel hungry for goals, and scoring in such matches would be even better," the forward noted.
