Before the UEFA Champions League match between Munich's Bayern and Manchester City clubs, Bayern's coach Pep Guardiola expressed admiration for City's manager Manuel Pellegrini.
The Catalan and the Chilean have met eight times in previous matches, with City's coach only managing to get one point.
Nevertheless, the former Barcelona coach did not spare compliments for his opponent before the Champions League match.
"The history of meetings against Pellegrini is not important to me. I admire him as a coach - I would like to be like him," said P.Guardiola.
"No matter what team he coaches, Pellegrini's teams always play the same. He leaves his mark, his brand. He loves football."
"We met when he coached Villarreal, Malaga, and Real clubs. I only won because I was at the helm of one of the best teams in Barcelona history," Guardiola added.
"It's always a pleasure to play against Manuel because his teams like to play with the ball, have control of the game," the Catalan coach did not spare praise.
