Club striker Kevin Kuranyi's career is soon expected to turn towards Gelsenkirchen. The Brazilian-born German should soon join the local club's ranks.
It is reported that both clubs have already agreed on a compensation of 4.5 million euros to the Stuttgart team. The striker himself seems inclined to move to the "Schalke" team, even though his current contract is valid until June 2008.
K. Kuranyi did not hide his desire to test his skills in the UEFA Champions League, and the Stuttgart team, finishing only fifth in the Bundesliga, will not have the right to compete among the strongest European teams next year. The situation is much better for the Gelsenkirchen team, which secured second place in the German championship and will represent the country in the Champions League next season.
A press conference is expected to be held on June 12 or 13, where more detailed details will be announced.
A few days ago, "Stuttgart" rejected the services of head coach Matthias Sammer.
