The player himself insists that he wants to test himself in another league. Valdes does not intend to extend his contract with "Barca" as this could be his last chance to play abroad.
"My time in the Barcelona team is over," the goalkeeper stated. "They offered me the chance to extend the contract, but I have made my final decision."

Valdes has been playing in the main lineup of Barcelona since 2002. During this time, the player took to the field 513 times in the ranks of the Catalans.
