The scandal-ridden "Liverpool" club's attacking leader Luis Suarez said that after returning from a 10-match ban, he will be much calmer and will seek to avoid new scandals.
The 26-year-old footballer was punished with a ten-match ban at the end of last season for biting defender Branislav Ivanovic during a match against "Chelsea" in London. Recently, the Uruguayan returned to the field and scored three goals for the "Liverpool" team in a few matches.
"I think that in those few games I have already proven that I am calmer. I am very critical of myself and I realized that playing well and calmly is beneficial. I have already understood this and hope to continue to be like this now, not like before," Suarez told "El Pais".
Although there were many rumors during the summer that Suarez would change teams, and the player himself expressed a desire to leave "Liverpool", he now admits that staying in the club was encouraged by Steven Gerrard.
"His attitude was an incentive for me to stay in the club. He and the team's fans had the greatest influence on me in this matter. S. Gerrard is the best both as a footballer and as a person, with whom I have had the opportunity to play," Suarez said.
