When the Lithuanian national football team lost 1:2 to the Latvians in the beginning of September in Riga, defender Valdemaras Borovskis, who plays for the club "Daugava", knew that difficult days awaited him.
The Lithuanian team was considered the favorite in the match, so the Latvians playing for the Riga team didn't miss the opportunity to mock V.Borovskis after their victory.
"In my team in Latvia, the locals joke: 'So what, you will win now?'" - V.Borovskis smiled during a press conference.
The football player noted that his teammates from the "Daugava" club never missed a chance to tease. But in a few days, the Latvians themselves might have to endure V.Borovskis' jokes.
"At home, we just want revenge. We need to return to Latvia with our heads held high," - the defender joked half-seriously, half-jokingly.
