Former "Barcelona" defender Edmilson, in an interview with the radio station "Cade Cope," stated that Neymar now dives much less than he used to while playing in Brazil.
The rising 21-year-old football star Neymar has constantly faced critical and often harsh remarks for falling in the field at the slightest touch from opponents and being prone to simulate fouls.
However, Edmilson is convinced that his compatriot has matured and grown after moving to Europe, and now he dives much less.
"In Brazil, Neymar used to dive very often. He still falls frequently now, but opponents play a major role in it. Defenders often fail to catch up with him and end up late in fouling Neymar's legs," said Edmilson. "Now, if he falls, there is a serious reason for it."
The Brazilian who wore the "Barcelona" shirt from 2004 to 2008 noted that the young forward fit in perfectly with the new team and environment.
"He integrated perfectly into the team's game, quickly mastered tactical nuances, and learned to understand new teammates in the "Barcelona" club. I hope he won't slow down. Neymar knew what he was doing because he was warned about potential difficulties. European football differs from that played in South America, but he quickly adapted and understood all the subtleties," said the veteran.
