"Barcelona" goalkeeper Victor Valdes has admitted that he feels attracted to the French "Ligue 1" championship. The Catalan goalkeeper recently stated that he will leave the team after this season and look for new challenges. As one of the possibilities, Valdes mentioned the French "Ligue 1" club "Monaco", where his former teammate from "Barca" Eric Abidal is playing. "I am very attracted to the French league - whether it's "Monaco" or any other French club," the 31-year-old footballer said to "Telefoot". "It's one of my options. My future is in the hands of agents, but "Monaco" club would be a good choice." "I know that Abidal is happy in Monaco, and we are good friends. He is a great person. Playing with him again would be great." Valdes played over 500 matches for "Barcelona" during his career, won "La Liga" six times and triumphed in the UEFA Champions League three times with the team, but he insists that his days in the club are numbered. "I have a contract until the end of the season. I spent more than 20 years in Barcelona and had the opportunity to win everything, but my adventures in this club are coming to an end. It's time to find new goals and another team," the Catalan concluded.
