After the match with Latvia, many Lithuanian football fans had a question: who is this Fedor Chernykh who caused so many problems for the neighbors' team. In one evening, the entire football world of our country heard about the talented defender playing in the Belarusian championship - and how else, because it was his goal and assist that in a sense decided the fate of the match.
Currently, the 22-year-old player, who belongs to Mogilev's "Dnepr" and is loaned to Novopolotsk's "Naftan," in a detailed interview with Futbolo.TV, talked about his career, family, Lithuania, and other no less interesting things.
- Fedor, tell us how you fell in love with football? - Futbolo.TV journalist Paulius Jakelis asked the defender.
- When I still lived in Moscow, I visited the swimming pool, and my mom wanted me to become a swimmer. There was an acquaintance coach who worked with me. When I moved to Vilnius, I started going to the pool here and even managed to become the champion of Vilnius, I was six at the time. It may sound strange, but everyone in my yard in Vilnius played football, not basketball, like the rest of Lithuania. Once, friends invited me to play for a team in the yard, and I did quite well, so I stayed, and after two years, I was noticed by coach Nikolay Pupkin. We still joke that the first price for my transfer was two balls.
- How did you end up in Lithuania?
- I was born in Moscow, but later my parents divorced and we - me, my mom, and brother - moved here. My grandfather was a soldier, and he had to travel all over the Soviet Union. When the family lived here, he fell ill, and everyone settled in Lithuania. Some of the children returned to Russia, others stayed here, so now I have many relatives both in Lithuania and Russia.
