Germany's national team coach Joachim Low has confirmed that he is negotiating a new contract with the German Football Federation.

J. Low revealed that the new contract could be valid until the year 2016. Meanwhile, according to the old contract, J. Low would leave his position as head coach of the national team after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

"Both sides want to collaborate until 2016. Of course, there will be changes if the team does not advance out of the group stage in the World Championships without having achieved a victory or points," said the German during a press conference.

"Successful performance is not always just about results. It's also important how we played and what relationship exists between the team and the coach," said J. Low.

J. Low was appointed as the head coach of the German national team in July 2006.
