In Ethiopia - one step away from tragedy. During the 2014 World Cup qualifying match between Ethiopia and Nigeria, two suicide bombers failed to detonate.

It is reported that they planned to carry out an attack either at the stadium itself or in a place where many fans had gathered.

It is stated that most likely, the nerves of the terrorists who had seen the large police forces could not hold. Just hours before the start of the match, they detonated themselves in a residential building located over 5 km from the stadium.

Football jerseys, explosives, grenades, and firearms were found at the scene of the incident.

"The attack was planned by Somali citizens," said Ethiopian officials.

It is suspected that the terrorists belonged to the "Al-Shabaab" group, which intended to retaliate against Ethiopia for sending troops to fight against "Al-Qaeda" in Somalia.
