Management of Panevežio "Ekranas", reacting to the information that appeared in the media claiming that some players were suspended due to debts, expressed their position on the situation.

"Our decision to suspend players was not impulsive. This decision was made definitely not because of alleged debts. A few weeks ago, while considering the reasons for poor team performance, we made a decision to rejuvenate the team composition. We were dissatisfied with the attitude towards work and behavior of some senior players regarding internal club rules. I wouldn't want to comment on the specific rules they violated, as we agreed with the players that out of respect for each other, we wouldn't disclose the reasons.

However, speaking about other possible infractions, unfortunately, we have received information about actions that may be incompatible with the principles of fair play, which might lead competent authorities to conduct an investigation to determine whether such facts occurred or not. It is regrettable that everything turned out this way, but we have no other way out in this situation," said the president of FK "Ekranas" Aušrys Labinas.

"In the match against Marijampolės "Sūduva," a significantly younger "Ekranas" line-up played, and the team's performance and the result achieved in that match showed that our decisions were correct. We see that the youth has a lot of potential and we hope that this will yield good results in the long run. Essentially, we are already thinking about the new season," stated the club's manager.

"As for the debts to individual players that are being escalated in the media - I can confidently confirm that the club has paid all the salaries stipulated in the contracts to all players, including those who have taken legal action against the club. Salaries have been and continue to be paid to all players without exception. Therefore, the club does not have any outstanding salaries. However, it must be acknowledged that the club has difficulties in paying bonuses to players, which the club has the right to allocate at its discretion and is not obligated to do so according to contracts. It is precisely these bonuses, and not salaries, that players demanding to go to court are after. So far, we have not received any information from the court, so it is difficult to assess and comment on anything. However, I would like to reiterate once again that players receive their salaries according to the contract," expressed Aušrys Labinas, the club's position.
