Andreas Iniesta - close to an agreement with "Barcelona" regarding new contract terms, reports "Sky Sports".
The 29-year-old footballer's contract with the Catalan team could still have 18 months remaining, but a new, five-year contract is being offered.
"Barcelona" vice president Josep Maria Bartomeu officially confirmed to the club's website that the contract will be signed in the near future.
"Iniesta remains in the club. Negotiations are taking place and both sides are inclined to reach an agreement. The new contract will be for a maximum of five years," the vice president confirmed.
The Spaniard has been playing for the main team of "Barcelona" since 2002.
