On Wednesday, the group stage of the UEFA Champions League took place, with eight matches played.
The first match of the evening took place in the Russian capital, where Moscow's CSKA faced Manchester City. Manuel Pellegrini's team secured a narrow 1-2 victory.
In the 32nd minute, the hosts took the lead when Zoran Tosic scored after a pass from Keisuke Honda, but just two minutes later Sergio Aguero equalized for Manchester City.
The same player put City ahead in the 42nd minute, after Alvaro Negredo's precise pass found him in front of the opponent's goal.
Both teams failed to score for the rest of the match, even though CSKA created some dangerous chances in the second half, especially towards the end.
In Madrid, perhaps the most interesting match of the round took place, where local Real faced Juventus from Turin. In the 55th minute of the second half, the Italian champions had to admit the superiority of the royal club.
Cristiano Ronaldo put the hosts ahead in the 4th minute, but Fernando Llorente quickly equalized. In the 29th minute, Ronaldo scored from the penalty spot, securing the victory for the Spanish vice-champions.
In other matches, Munich's Bayern humiliated their opponents from Plzen by sending 5 goals into the "Viktoria" net.
Among the goal scorers were David Alaba, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Mario Gotze, and two-time best European football player Franck Ribery.
In the Belgian capital, Anderlecht fans witnessed an incredible goal from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paris Saint-Germain's overwhelming victory.
PSG netted four goals, all scored by Swedish national team member, while Edinson Cavani added one more.
Also celebrating victories were Manchester United, Leverkusen's Bayer, and Istanbul's Galatasaray players, while Benfica and Piraeus Olympiakos teams settled for a draw.
