Before the match - complaints about the tragic quality of the pitch, after them - indignation about racism. In the Champions League, Manchester City's visit to Moscow with CSKA was marked by unpleasant incidents.
Russian club fans insulted Manchester City player Yaya Toure from the Ivory Coast during the match with chants.
"I was not only disappointed, but also furious," said the 30-year-old footballer after the match. "I had a captain's armband with 'no to racism' written on it. I told the referee that it was simply unbelievable and sad."
According to Y. Toure, UEFA must take strict sanctions against the CSKA team.
"UEFA must do something, otherwise the situation of black players in football will not improve. Perhaps they should be instructed to play matches without fans, maybe for several months or years. We must be strong, otherwise they will continue to behave like this. It's already too much. We have to stop it."
According to UEFA regulations, for the first racist incident, a portion of the stadium can be closed, for the second - the entire stadium and a fine of 50,000 euros.
"Racism is a foolish thing, but it exists in football. As an African, it is always sad to hear racist insults," Y. Toure insisted.
