On Thursday evening, UEFA Europa League group stage third round matches were played in European stadiums.
London's "Tottenham" team celebrated victory on the road, defeating the "Sheriff" team from Moldova. Goals by Jan Vertonghen and Jermain Defoe determined the victory for the "Spurs" players.
In Group I, victories were secured by the "Lyon" and "Real Betis" clubs. The French beat the Croatian "Rijeka" with a minimal difference at home, while the Spanish club achieved the same result against "Vitoria Guimaraes" from Portugal.
The players of "Sevilla" lost points, playing a draw away against the "Slovan Liberec" players, while "Lazio" failed to break through the defense of "Apollon".
In later matches, victory was celebrated by the "Valencia" team, crushing the "St.Gallen" club with a score of 5 - 1, while "Swansea City" let victory slip from their hands at home against the "Kuban Krasnodar" players.
Solid home victories were also celebrated by "Fiorentina" and "Eintracht Frankfurt", defeating the respective clubs "Pandurii Targu Jiu" and "Maccabi Tel Aviv".
English "Wigan" players played a draw against Kazan's "Rubin", and the French "Bordeaux" defeated the Nicosia "APOEL" team.
