The team of "Leeds United" playing in the second league of England officially announced that they have signed a contract until the end of this season with the Lithuanian national team defender Marius Žaliūkas.

It was previously announced that the 29-year-old center-back's career would take a turn towards this legendary English club, and today the announcements were confirmed.

M.Žaliūkas has been training with "Leeds United" for some time now and managed to play in a friendly match. The team's coach was satisfied with the performance of the Lithuanian.

"I am delighted that we were able to sign a contract with Marius. He is a player with a lot of experience. It's fantastic to have such a defender in the team," praised coach Brian McDermott.

Other "Championship" clubs were also interested in the defender. The former "Hearts" player received the most attention from the London QPR team, where he trained for a long time, but did not sign a contract.

"Leeds United" currently holds 9th place in the "Championship" championship this season. In a total of 12 matches played, the Leeds team achieved five victories, suffered some losses, and drew twice.
