FIFA announced a list of 23 footballers competing for the "Golden Ball" © EuroFootball.com

On Tuesday, FIFA and the influential French newspaper "France Football" announced the surnames of 23 players who are nominated for the "Ballon d'Or" award.

Also at this ceremony, the best coaches in the world will be announced. The list includes a total of 10 coaches competing for the prestigious award.

The awards ceremony will take place on January 13th next year. In Zurich, the best 11 footballers in the world, the most beautiful goal of the season, the FIFA Presidential Award, and the Fair Play Award will also be announced.

The best coach and footballer will be chosen by national team coaches and captains. Meanwhile, "France Football" will select one journalist from each country who will cast their vote.

Lionel Messi - a forward who has won the "Ballon d'Or" award for four consecutive years. Last year, the best coach was the strategist of the Spanish national team, Vicente Del Bosque.
