"Milan" club strategist Massimiliano Allegri is convinced that the media should pay less attention to forward Mario Balotelli's personal life.
The specialist believes that a footballer should be judged based on his performances on the field, not off it, and asks for the Italian national team player to be left in peace.
"I judge Balotelli based on his performances on the field. He played poorly in the match against "Parma" on Sunday, so I substituted him," - stated M. Allegri.
"He will be able to play against "Lazio" and I think he will perform well. Mario looks solid in training, and I am also convinced that the press should leave him in peace.
"There are too many discussions about his private life. I think Balotelli, like other footballers, should be criticized or praised for what he does on the field," - insists the "Rossoneri" coach.
M. Allegri also believes that the forward is subjected to excessively high demands: "He arrived in January and scored 12 goals in the first 13 matches."
"At the beginning of this season, he also played well. It may happen that a player loses form, but when it happens to M. Balotelli, the bubble is burst," - angrily spoke M. Allegri.
On Wednesday evening, "Milan" club will face off against the players of Roma's "Lazio" in the Serie A championship match of the tenth round.
