On Wednesday evening, two more "Capital One Cup" eighth-final matches were played in England.
After extra time, the team coached by Manuel Pellegrini, "Manchester City," secured a victory against "Newcastle United."
During the main match time, they were unable to break the opponents' defense, but they succeeded in the 99th minute when Alvaro Negredo scored a goal.
Edin Dzeko helped the team with a point by scoring in the 105th minute, so there was no need to determine the stronger team in a penalty shootout.
In another match, London's "Tottenham" team played at home against "Hull City" players.
Gylfi Sigurdsson put "Spurs" ahead in the 16th minute, but in the second half, the result became equal when Brad Friedel's ball ended up in the hosts' goal.
The teams did not manage to score during the regular time, so the action moved to extra time.
In the 99th minute, "Hull City" unexpectedly took the lead, with Paul McShane scoring for them.
The hosts did not give up, and in the 108th minute, they equalized once again after Harry Kane's goal.
There were no more goals scored during the remaining time, so the fate of reaching the quarter-finals had to be determined in a penalty shootout.
