"Barcelona" defender Gerard Pique, giving an interview, mocked the Madrid "Real" club saying what people would say about "Barca" if it only won the Spanish "Primera" and "Copa del Rey" trophies in five years.
The Catalan team often faces criticism for its deteriorating play since Josep Guardiola left the club, but the Spanish national team player responded to the critics.
"After such a time has passed and with a change of coach, it could be that our style of play is no longer so important. Every team when playing thinks about victory and nothing else," the player said on "Barca TV."
"Comparisons between Guardiola's former 'Barca' and the current one do not harm us, but take as an example the 'Real' club. Imagine what would happen if we only won two titles in five years," said G. Pique.
For now, the team from the Spanish capital remains in the shadow of "Barcelona." The Catalans have triumphed four times in the Spanish championship over the same period.
