On the official website of Bayer Leverkusen, it was announced that they have extended the contract with the young team goalkeeper Bernd Leno until 2018.
The 21-year-old footballer has already secured a regular place in the starting lineup. His good goalkeeping this season has helped Bayer Leverkusen to hold the third place in the Bundesliga.
"This club signed me when I was only 19. I didn't expect to get a chance back then, but I did and have been using it successfully ever since," said B. Leno.
"I believe that Bayer will continue to pursue their future goals. Recently, a contract was signed with Lars Bender, who is a star of our team. I think that by keeping such players, we can achieve great things," added the goalkeeper.
Leverkusen borrowed the German from the second team of Stuttgart in 2011, and just a year later, they acquired full rights to him. The goalkeeper has already played 95 matches.
