London's "Arsenal" club strategist Arsene Wenger is pleased with the team's progress compared to last season.
The Frenchman is convinced that the team is moving in the right direction and showing signs of improvement, describing the loss at "Old Trafford" stadium as a lack of luck.
In just over a week, the "Gunners" defeated "Liverpool" and Borussia Dortmund, but had to succumb to Manchester United away.
"I feel that the team is growing and improving, and the match against Man Utd only reinforces my belief. We hope to play well against Southampton after the international break," Wenger said.
The specialist is disappointed with the defeat at "Old Trafford" stadium and believes that a psychological mindset played a role, as the last time Arsenal won at the "Red Devils" fortress was in 2006.
"When we started playing, we dominated the match but couldn't score in the second half. I hope the players are upset, especially with such a performance, because losing such matches is unbelievable," the Frenchman continued.
"Perhaps we weren't ourselves in the first half because we haven't won at Old Trafford for a while. In the second half, we had to react - things definitely didn't go our way," the strategist concluded.
