The national teams of Nigeria and Ivory Coast have joined the 21 world teams traveling to the final stage of the 2014 World Championships in Brazil.

On Saturday, in the African zone play-off matches, the Nigerian team won at home against Ethiopian footballers with a score of 2:0 (1:0), who they had previously defeated 2:1 in Addis Ababa in October.

The goals in Saturday's match were scored by Victor Moses (20 min. from a penalty kick) and Victor Obinna (82 min.).

Earlier, Nigerian footballers participated in the World Championships in 1994, 1998, 2002, and 2010.

In other matches, the first half was goalless. In the second half, both teams scored once. Moussa Sow brought Senegal ahead in the 77th minute from the penalty spot. In the 90th minute, Ivory Coast player Salomon Kalou defeated the opponents' goalkeeper and equalized the result.

The first meeting was won 3:1 by the Ivory Coast team, which is why they are the ones traveling to the World Championships in Brazil.

After the qualification tournaments for the 2014 World Cup ended in mid-October on various continents, 21 teams have been identified to participate in the final stage in Brazil.

In this championship, Europe will be represented by the national teams of Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Russia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, England, and defending champions Spain.

In Asia, the tickets to the final stage were secured by the teams from Australia, Iran, Japan, and South Korea.

In South America, besides the host team Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, and Ecuador will be happy to participate in the final stage, while in the CONCACAF zone, the honor will be defended by the teams from Costa Rica, USA, and Honduras.

The final stage of the World Cup in Brazil will take place from June 12 to July 13 next year.
