Munich's "Bayern" club defender Philipp Lahm insists that the German national team can be called one of the favorites of the World Cup.
Joachim Low's proteges reached the semi-final stage both in the 2012 European Championship and the 2010 World Cup, but were criticized for their weak team character.
Lahm believes that this experience will help the team achieve higher goals at the upcoming World Cup in Brazil next summer.
"The team has matured over the past few years. The 2010 World Cup was the first for many players, so they were like thrown into cold water. Also, some experienced players failed to improve the team's performance," said the German about the failures of past championships.
"The same players gained experience in qualifying matches and the European Championship. However, there are at least six other teams that seriously aim to become champions. We can consider ourselves as one of the favorites," said the 30-year-old defender.
