"Barcelona" vice president Josep Bartomeu has confirmed that the Catalan club is actively looking for a replacement for Victor Valdes and it is believed that a new goalkeeper will arrive already in January.
After the first team goalkeeper V. Valdes announced that he will leave Barcelona after the season, rumors started spreading about new contenders to take the Spaniard's place.
As the club's vice president claims, the Spanish vice-champions are especially interested in Pepe Reina from "Liverpool" and also in the young German Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, who currently defends the colors of "Napoli" this season.
"The plan is already in place. In the upcoming transfer window, we will aim to acquire a new goalkeeper. Valdes will definitely leave the team, so the two main candidates to take his place are Reina and Ter Stegen," stated J. Bartomeu.
The 21-year-old goalkeeper from "Gladbach" would like to transfer to "Barça", and P. Reina also does not reject this opportunity.
