Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has reached the record of the all-time leading scorer of the Portuguese national team, which belonged to Pauleta.
The captain of the national team scored three goals in yesterday's match against Sweden and equaled the former Bordeaux striker, who also scored 47 goals.
The 28-year-old leader of Real has already surpassed players such as Eusebio (32 goals), Luis Figo (29), Nuno Gomes (27), and Rui Costa (26).
Already considered one of the greatest Portuguese national team players of all time, C. Ronaldo has played a total of 109 matches and will go to the 2014 World Cup in the summer.
After a stunning sporting form this season, the forward is the undisputed favorite to win the "Ballon d'Or" award.
