The Turkish media reports that Istanbul's "Besiktas" forward Hugo Almeida will move to Spain in the summer, where he will defend the honor of Madrid's "Atletico" club.
It is believed that the team led by Diego Simeone may soon lose their leader Diego Costa, who is linked with English Premier League clubs.
The 29-year-old footballer would be willing to accept this offer, as he is interested in the opportunity to play in the Spanish Primera championship, where he has not yet played.
H. Almeida's contract with the Istanbul team expires in the summer of 2014 and it is almost certain that his and "Besiktas" paths will diverge, so the player's agent has started negotiations with other clubs.
The Portuguese arrived in the largest city in Turkey in 2011. During this time, the forward played 87 matches and scored 39 goals.
Throughout his career, H. Almeida has worn the jerseys of five different teams.
