The twelfth round of the English Premier League started with a real treat for football fans.

At Goodison Park stadium, spectators gathered to watch the 221st Liverpool city derby between the hosts Everton and Liverpool teams.

The match started better for Brendan Rodgers' "reds", who took the lead in the 5th minute after Philippe Coutinho was left unmarked during a corner kick.

However, Liverpool did not enjoy the lead for long as Kevin Mirallas equalized in the 8th minute for Everton.

In the 19th minute, striker Luis Suarez restored the lead for Rodgers' team with a penalty kick. The game then calmed down a bit.

However, it was not quiet until the end of the match. In the 72nd minute, Everton once again leveled the score. Amid some chaos in the penalty area, Romelu Lukaku scored a goal.

The same Belgian striker added another goal ten minutes later, this time with a header after a corner kick.

Despite that, Roberto Martinez's team couldn't hold onto the lead as Daniel Sturridge, who came off the bench, beat goalkeeper Tim Howard in the 89th minute.

In another match, the leaders of the English championship, Arsenal, easily defeated Southampton, who were in third place before this round.

In the 22nd minute, Olivier Giroud put Arsenal ahead after a mistake by Artur Boruc, and in the second half, he secured the victory with a penalty kick.

Swansea City's players celebrated victory on the road after beating Fulham 2 - 1. Newcastle also won at home against Norwich City with the same result.

In the evening match, Chelsea had no problems against West Ham United, defeating them 3 - 0.

Two goals for the winners were scored by Frank Lampard, and one was added by Brazilian Oscar.
