Bayern Munich's manager Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed that they will not try to use the €250 million buyout clause specified in the contract to acquire Barcelona's player Lionel Messi in the future.
"Messi? We're talking about absurd numbers, a transfer fee that would be even higher than Javi Martinez's," the German said.
"I know Barcelona's president Sandro Rosell, who will never sell his best forward. Messi is a saint in the Barcelona club and they will not let the Argentine leave," Rummenigge said.
"Not changing clubs would be beneficial for both the club and the player, who fits in perfectly with the Barcelona team."
Lionel Messi's contract with the Catalan team is valid until 2018.
