On Tuesday evening, the matches of the 5th round of group stage in Europe were played. In total, there were eight matches in European stadiums.
One of the most interesting matches took place in Dortmund, where "Borussia" beat "Napoli" with a score of 3-1 and brought back the intrigue in Group F.
Among the winners were Marco Reus, Jakub Blaszczykowski, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The only goal for the opponents was scored by Lorenzo Insigne.
The battle for a spot in the Champions League knockout stage in the "Group of Death" is still ongoing. The "Gunners" eliminated Napoli after their victory. Currently, London's "Arsenal" is in first place with 12 points.
The London team also celebrated a convincing victory in front of their fans. Arsene Wenger's team defeated "Marseille" with two goals from Jack Wilshere.
Meanwhile, an unexpected result was recorded in Amsterdam. The young "Ajax" club beat "Barcelona" by a slim margin and will face "Milan" in the next stage of the Champions League group matches.
London's "Chelsea" suffered disappointment on the road. At the end of the match, "Basel" won a crucial victory after Mohamed Salah's goal, and the Swiss team climbed to second place.
In other matches, Glasgow's "Celtic" lost to "Milan," while "Porto" and Vienna's "Austria" played to a draw. The same result was recorded in Russia. Bucharest's "Steaua" played goalless at home against Gelsenkirchen's "Schalke."
