The "Juventus" club confirmed that one of the team's leaders, Arturo Vidal, has signed a new contract.
Reports about the contract extension have been appearing in the press for a long time, but the deal was officially confirmed only on Monday.
The 26-year-old footballer signed a contract with the "Bianconeri" team, which is valid until 2017.
On Monday, A. Vidal was awarded the "Castagna d'Oro" prize, which is given to the best "Juventus" player of the previous season. This award is established by the club's fans.
Last season, the Chilean became the team's top scorer with 15 goals to his name. This year, he has already scored 10 goals in over 20 matches.
The footballer moved to Turin from Leverkusen's "Bayer" club in the summer of 2011. "Juventus" paid 12.5 million euros for him at that time.
In total, A. Vidal has worn the "Bianconeri" shirt in 100 matches, scoring 32 goals and assisting his team mates 20 times.
