On Tuesday, the French club announced that the new team strategist will be former head coach Jean Fernandez.
Former head coach of "Marseille" J. Fernandez, who two years ago helped "Metz" stay in the top division of France, replaced Philippe Troussier, who was fired on June 2nd due to the team's poor performance.
This year, "Marseille" finished only fifth in Ligue 1 and did not secure a spot in either the UEFA Champions League or the UEFA Europa League.
Former "Marseille" player J. Fernandez named qualifying for the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League as the team's main goal.
The fifty-year-old J. Fernandez signed a two-year contract with "Marseille."
