Munich "Bayern" team strategist Pep Guardiola thanked his team for a fantastic match in which his coached club crushed "Werder Bremen" team 7-0 and extended an impressive unbeaten streak to 40 matches in the Bundesliga. The strategist also stated that the "Ballon d'Or" award should go not to anyone else, but to the player of his team - Franck Ribery.
Talking about Franck Ribery's strengths, Pep Guardiola emphasized that this player most deserves to be the best footballer on the planet.
"We have been talking about this for a long time. Franck played incredibly well last season. His career is unbelievable. What Bayern is now - this year - is precisely the merit of this player.
Of course, other players contributed as well, but most of all - Franck. It is natural - he deserves to win the 'Ballon d'Or' title, a personal award, but most importantly - that he is satisfied with his performance this season and last," - said the Bayern coach.
P. Guardiola did not underestimate other contenders for the award: "Amazing players like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and others are also worthy. However, for Franck, the last season was undoubtedly unprecedented."
After the stunning victory against "Werder Bremen," P. Guardiola thanked his team and stated that coaching such a team is like a privilege: "I want to congratulate my players, it was a very good match. Thanks to the club for having such wonderful footballers. It is an honor for me to coach them."
Bayern has not lost in the Bundesliga for 40 consecutive matches. The last time the team stumbled was in October 2012.
