Next year, a new goalkeeper joined the club competing in the English Premier League. Former goalkeeper from Northern Ireland Rojus Carroll became the new addition.
Last season, R. Carroll was the main goalkeeper for Man Utd. Unfortunately, making childish mistakes, the Irishman was fiercely criticized by both the media and fans. At the end of May, the Manchester team let him go.
However, "West Ham" coach Alan Pardew was very pleased with the new acquisition: "I think the best years of Rojus' career are still ahead".
"When a club starts competing in the highest league, as we will do next season, the goalkeeper position is very important. Rojus is exactly what we needed".
R. Carroll started his career in 1995 at Hull City. Later, he moved to Wigan for £350,000, where he defended the goal until 2001 when he moved to Man Utd for £2.5 million.
The Irishman defended the goal of the "Red Devils" more than 70 times.
