Still fresh in our memories about the fantastic UEFA Champions League final and triumph, we slowly start looking towards the upcoming season, which, as every year, promises to be intriguing.

We present to you the most important dates of the upcoming season.

June

June 18-19:

The new season begins in European football stadiums, and the first ones to step onto the field are the participants of the Intertoto Cup, aiming to secure a place in the UEFA Cup competition. Among these teams will be two representatives from Lithuania's capital - "Žalgiris" and "Vėtra".

June 24:

Draw for the first round of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers. On that day, both Kaunas' "FBK Kaunas" and the defending champions "Liverpool", who received a special UEFA permission to participate, will find out their opponents.

On the same day, the draw for the first round of the UEFA Cup tournament will also take place. We will find out who Klaipėda's "Atlantas" and Panevėžys' "Ekranas" will be up against.

July

July 12-13:

First leg matches of the first round of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.

July 14:

The first stage of the UEFA Cup begins.

July 16-17:

The start of the third round of the Intertoto Cup. Will "Vėtra" repeat their achievement from last year?

August

August 13:

The start of the English Premier League matches. Will "Chelsea" be able to defend their title as champions?

August 31:

The so-called transfer window closes, meaning that clubs can no longer buy new players.

December

December 31:

The transfer window reopens and clubs can once again strengthen with new signings.

January

January 31:

That's it! All teams will no longer be able to register new players until the end of the season.

May

May 17:

June 9:
