On Sunday, two matches of the 17th round of the English Premier League were played.

In the previous match, the Southampton team coached by Mauricio Pochettino hosted the Tottenham team led by Tim Sherwood.

In the 13th minute, the home team took the lead with a long-range shot by team captain Adam Lallana, but the Spurs striker Emmanuel Adebayor equalized in the 25th minute.

The beginning of the second half was unfortunate for the hosts, as their defender Jos Hooiveld scored an own goal.

Shortly after, striker Ricky Lambert once again leveled the score, sending the ball into empty net after a great pass from A. Lallana. However, just five minutes later, the first goal scorer E. Adebayor took advantage of a defensive mix-up and his precise shot in the 64th minute turned out to be the winning goal.

After this match, the Tottenham team moved to 7th place in the league table with 30 points. The Southampton club, with 24 points, is ranked 9th.

In a later match between Swansea City and Everton, Roberto Martinez's team celebrated victory with a score of 2 - 1.

Seamus Coleman scored for Everton in the 66th minute with a long shot, but a bizarre own goal by Bryan Oviedo leveled the score.

However, the team from Liverpool managed to celebrate victory as young Ross Barkley did not leave any hope for the opponents with a penalty kick in the 84th minute.

After this victory, Everton players moved up to fourth place in the league table, surpassing the Chelsea team. The latter will face Arsenal away on Monday evening.
