London's "Arsenal" and the England national team midfielder Jack Wilshere revealed on his social network "Twitter" why he showed his middle finger to "Manchester City" fans. As a result, the North London club's midfielder was disqualified for two matches.
The incident occurred at the "Etihad" stadium in Manchester on December 14th, where the hosts defeated the "Arsenal" team 6:3. The referee did not see J. Wilshere's gesture, but it was captured by TV cameras.
On Tuesday, in his "Twitter" account, the midfielder tried to explain why it happened.
"My reaction should not have been like that, I should not have paid attention to them when they were mocking my children. However, there is only one match left. I can't wait to return to the field," wrote J. Wilshere.
The midfielder already missed the match against London's "Chelsea" on Monday, and on Thursday he will not be able to play in the match against "West Ham United".
