Menchengladbach's "Borussia" leaders, who previously spoke firmly about their goal to keep Marc-Andre Ter Stegen in the team, are now significantly softening their tone.
After this season, Barcelona will bid farewell to their long-standing goalkeeper Victor Valdes, so the 21-year-old German has been linked to the Catalan club for some time.
However, the negotiators of the Spanish champions are also not willing to reveal their cards in advance and only talk about M.-A. Ter Stegen with polite generic phrases.
Meanwhile, "Borussia" coach Lucien Favre, asked about the future of his protege, gave journalists an extra pen.
"Where will Marc-Andre play next season? It's a very difficult question and now I no longer know the answer. Of course, I would still like him to stay in my coached team, but when Barcelona makes an offer, you can try to imagine what the player is thinking at that moment," - after the match with "Wolfsburg" the Menchengladbach team manager mysteriously said.
And even though L. Favre later refused to confirm the news that M.-A. Ter Stegen had actually received an offer from the Catalan club, the coach's last sentence still did not convince the journalists: "You have to be realistic, and hope is always there."
M.-A. Ter Stegen has a contract with "Borussia" until the summer of 2015.
As reported earlier, Barcelona is prepared to offer the goalkeeper a four-season contract, and the new acquisition for the Catalans would cost around 15 million euros.
In addition, the German media reports that "Borussia" is already looking for M.-A. Ter Stegen's successor and will try to attract 23-year-old "Freiburg" goalkeeper Oliver Baumann to the team.
