The new head coach of the "Valencia" club became Juan Antonio Pizzi, born in Argentina, who replaced the 47-year-old Miroslav Djukic, who was dismissed last week.

After 17 rounds in the tournament of twenty teams, "Valencia" players are in eleventh place with 20 points - 6 wins, 2 draws, and 9 losses (goals 23:29).

This position does not guarantee the team a ticket to European tournaments in 2014-2015.

According to the "Valencia" club, the 45-year-old J.A. Pizzi, who won the Argentinian championship with "San Lorenzo" in Buenos Aires, will be assisted by Manuel Suarez and Alejandro Richino.

During his football career, J.A. Pizzi played for the clubs "Valencia", "Tenerife", and "Barcelona". Having obtained Spanish citizenship, he scored 8 goals in 22 matches for the national team.

It is said that the new club's sports director, former Argentinian national team captain Roberto Ayala, convinced J.A. Pizzi, who has eight years of coaching experience and worked in Peru and Chile, to come to "Valencia".

J.A. Pizzi became the fourth head coach of the "Valencia" football club in the last year and a half.
