The strategist of London's Chelsea club, Jose Mourinho, believes that the Liverpool team is capable of winning the English Premier League.
Portugal is convinced that Brendan Rodgers' team, who are not participating in European tournaments, have favorable conditions to win the title of Premier League champions, but he considers Manchester City as the favorites.
"I know Brendan said they can't win the championship and that leaps from seventh place to first don't happen, but I think differently," said the 51-year-old specialist.
"They are a good team and a good strategist. They have time to prepare tactically and are not involved in the heat of European knockout rounds."
"My players will play 60 matches, Brendan's - 40. That's a huge difference. When you match the quality of the team, ambitions, and such an advantage, you can win the Premier League," Mourinho insisted.
"This year there is great competition not only in the fight for the title, but also for a place in the top four. I think the favorites to win the Premier League are the players of Man City."
"B. Rodgers' men are on holiday all season. They play one match and have a whole week to prepare for the next one, which is a big advantage."
"Also Manchester United, despite being a few points behind, like in recent years, will fight for the title," continued the Portuguese.
"Meanwhile, Arsenal, like us, are fighting in the Champions League. They are striving to improve compared to the last few seasons. They have not been at the top of the table for many years."
"For the past couple of seasons, we have been 25 and 14 points behind the champions. We will try to demonstrate what we do best," Mourinho concluded.
