On the first day of the New Year in England, matches of the 20th round of the Premier League were played.
In the earliest match, the Manuel Pellegrini-led Manchester City team defeated Swansea City players away.
In the 14th minute, midfielder Fernandinho scored the first goal for the visitors, but Wilfried Bony equalized the score at the end of the first half. However, this goal was scored from an offside position, but the sideline referee did not notice it.
In the second half, Yaya Toure regained the lead for the Man City club, and Aleksandar Kolarov increased their advantage.

The Chelsea team led by Jose Mourinho secured a comfortable victory away. The aristocrats defeated Southampton players after goals from Fernando Torres, Willian, and Oscar.
Everton players dropped points. Roberto Martinez's pupils played a draw of 1 - 1 away with Stoke City club. A point was taken by the Toffees at the end of the match by Leighton Baines, successfully converting a penalty kick.
In the evening match, Manchester United and Tottenham teams will test their strength against each other.
After this round, Arsenal players continue to lead the championship. They are followed by the clubs Manchester City and Chelsea. The Liverpool team has climbed to the fourth place in the league table.
