Munich's "Bayern" announced on their official website on Saturday evening that they had reached an agreement with Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski.
The 25-year-old footballer, as expected, underwent a medical examination today and will become a full-fledged Bavarian player from the summer, with the German champions not having to pay anything for the Polish player.
The Polish national team member will arrive in Munich as a free agent. It is also reported that the striker signed a five-year contract until 2019.
"We are very happy that we were able to reach an agreement with Robert Lewandowksi. He is one of the best strikers in the world, so he will definitely strengthen the team," said Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, General Director of the UEFA Champions League winners.
This transfer is reminiscent of Mario Gotze, who also signed a contract with Bayern before the end of the 2012-2013 season, although he was still playing for Borussia's club.
R. Lewandowski will officially join the Munich team on July 1, when the summer transfer window for players opens.
