In the German media, reports appeared that Real Madrid also tried to sign a contract with Borussia Dortmund striker, but the player himself wanted to move to Bayern Munich.
According to the newspaper "Der Spiegel", the Spanish vice champions were willing to pay as much as 81 million euros to Borussia, although the Champions League winners will not receive a single euro for the Polish national team player, as he will arrive in Munich in the summer.
The "royal" club offered the 25-year-old player an almost 10 million euro salary per season, but this amount was not final.
Last summer, Bayern Munich sought to acquire R. Lewandowski, while Florentino Perez started showing interest in the Polish player after the end of the summer transfer window.
This season, the striker scored 16 goals in 24 matches played.
