The "Real" Madrid club officially confirmed on Wednesday evening that defender Xabi Alonso has extended his contract for another two years.
The Spanish vice-champions team had been negotiating for a new contract with the 32-year-old football player for a long time before finally reaching an agreement.
The Spanish national team member will remain in Madrid until the summer of 2016. The player himself announced the contract extension on his "Twitter" account before the official announcement from "Real" club.
One of the best players in his position, X. Alonso joined the "white" team in 2009 when he left the "Liverpool" team.
In less than five seasons, the defender appeared on the field 204 times and scored six goals wearing the "Real" jersey.
