Former Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain, showcasing excellent athletic form, is delighted with his decision to move to Napoli.
Last summer, the 26-year-old footballer left the royal club for 40 million euros and went to Italy. The Argentine himself claims that Diego Maradona did not influence this decision.
"I am very happy with my decision. I love this club, the city, and its people," the Argentine national team player told an Italian newspaper.
"Diego Maradona did not need to convince me to move to Naples. The decision was mine alone, and I do not regret it.
"The Santiago Bernabeu stadium has never chanted my name, but at this club, I hear it every time. I am extremely satisfied," added the striker.
This season, G. Higuain, wearing the jersey of the Italian vice-champions, appeared on the field 22 times and scored 13 goals.
