Madrid's Real leader Cristiano Ronaldo, accepting the "Golden Ball," brought tears to many, but also thanked everyone who supported him.
On Monday evening in Switzerland, the FIFA ceremony revealed that the best football player in the world is Portugal's national team captain.
The 28-year-old player left Lionel Messi behind him, who remained in second place, and Bayern Munich's winger Franck Ribery.
"First of all, I want to thank my teammates both in the club and in the national team. Without their help, winning this title would not have been possible, and now I am very happy," said C.Ronaldo as he accepted the "Golden Ball."
"I want to thank everyone who supported me. I am grateful for everything to my wife, child, and friends. This moment is special and I say thank you to everyone!" added the Portuguese player.
C.Ronaldo won the "Ballon d'Or" award for the second time. The first time he triumphed in these awards was in 2008 when he was still playing for Manchester United.
