Former Lithuanian national team player Andrius Velička has extended his contract with Vilnius city football club "Žalgiris".

The Kaunas native joined the green and white team last summer from Azerbaijan's Baku "AZAL" club.

Representing the capital's team, the forward scored 5 goals and made 4 assists in 23 matches and 910 minutes on the field.

Throughout his career, A. Velička played for strong foreign clubs such as Machachkala's "Anzhi", Edinburgh's "Hearts", Stavanger's "Viking", and Glasgow's "Rangers".

At the age of 34, the journey of the Žalgiris player no longer entices him to foreign lands.
